He went to the University of G গttingen in West Germany and returned home in 1970 after graduating. Back in the country, he was employed as a researcher in theoretical nuclear physics at Dhaka University. He worked as an X-ray engineer in Philips Electrical Company of Pakistan from 1951 to June 30, 1956. Later, Khan Khadim joined the Department of Physics of Dhaka University on 20 August 1983 as a temporary lecturer. He joined the same department on 6 September of the same year as a Fellow of the same department. Later, on 5 December 1985, he started his career as a permanent lecturer in the Department of Physics. Initially B.Sc. Khan Khadim used to take practical classes for 3rd year students.
