Habibullah
Siraji, a well-known poet and writer of contemporary Bangladesh, joined the
private sector in 1960 after graduating in engineering. He is currently the
President of the National Poetry Council of Bangladesh. He is also a Fellow of
Bangla Academy, Co-President of Bangladesh Writers Club and Life Member of
Engineers Recreation Club.
His
novels include "Krishnapakshe Agnikand" (1983) and
"Parajay" (198). Articles include "Second Lesson" (2010),
"Mixed Mill" (2012), etc. There is also his memoir "Amar
Kumar" (2010).
His long

(1989), Bangla Academy Sahitya Award (1991), Vishnu De Award (2006, India),
Ruposhi Bangla Award (2010, India), Mahadiganta Award (2011, India). ),
Solidarity Meritorious Medal of Honor (2009, USA),
Jalangi
Honorary Medal (2009, India), Trailokyanath Babaji Memorial Medal (2011), etc.
Received
many honors and receptions. These include - BUET Reception (1993), Bengali
Cultural Association Reception, Hyderabad (2009, India), Nalta Mitali
